Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet

Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet

great helmet for an excellent price

I was pleasantly surprised with this helmet considering it was $30.00. Its lightweight, breathes well and fits like a glove (love the head harness system). I initially purchased it because I am a female with a small build (and a small head) and the reviews stated that the helmet ran a bit on the smaller side. Its really lightweight, could be a pro or a con. That being said it seems durable, although hopefully I will never have a real test of that.

Pro:
*Cost
*Good Air flow
*Fits well
* Looks cool

Cons:
* Could use a sun shade
* adjustment knob is a little hard to turn, but you shouldn’t have to adjust it that ofter.

Bottom line - I highly recommend it!

Giro Indicator Sport Bike Helmet

Giro Indicator Sport Bike Helmet

Nice helmet at a nice price.
After buying my first road bike I realized I needed a helmet. My budget was $50 or less (at my wife’s urging), and after looking at numerous models on line, I decided on the Indicator based on all of the positive reviews. I have to say I have not been disappointed. It fits well, feels comfortable and is very light. I think all bike helmets look dorky when worn but this one is not bad and I actually forget I have it on once I hit the road. The bottom line is it protects my head and for the price paid I feel I got a great deal. If you want a decent helmet that won’t break the bank, give this one a try.

Allen Deluxe 4-Bike Trunk Mount Rack

Tag: Sports & Outdoorsadmin @ 1:29 pm
Allen Deluxe 4-Bike Trunk Mount Rack I purchased this in June 2008 to carry 4 mountain bikes, mainly for use on the back of my 4Runner while towing a tent trailer to some mountain camping areas. I went this route rather than purchasing a roof mounted bike rack on the car or trailer for a couple reasons. First, the roof mounted racks were too high for my wife to get the bikes on / off, and we wanted the versatility of using the racks with or without the trailer.

The setup was very straightforward. Just unfolded the unit out of the box, and attached it to the rear of the car with the two top straps. Then adjusted to the correct height, and attached and adjusted the other straps. The unit is heavy, a good thing as it is also very strong and seems to easily deal with the weight of 4 bikes. We fit the 4 bikes with no issues, and used it to go camping a couple weeks ago. We went over 200 miles, sometimes over rough terrain and bumps, and the rack performed fine throughout.
